It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Thanks to football we had a practically private dining experience. The staff were lovely, the food was fantastic, wine was interesting but London prices, but the better priced offerings were still good. Such a great time- will be going back when the rest of the country is distracted and hope is as charming.

I really enjoyed the vibe, even from the outside, which is what prompted me to come and try Popolo. I just walked past and thought it looked super cosy and had a great looking menu. The kitchen is right there and I really enjoyed being able to see how the staff manage to create some simple but beautiful food. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes and it all made for a very lovely evening. They recommend 5-6 of the dishes if you are sharing between 2 people, we had 5 and that was a good amount. Thank you Popolo

The space is cosy. The menu focuses on sharing plates and handmade pasta. Most of the dishes we tried were packed with flavour, simple ingredients, but done really well. Prices aren’t cheap, but the quality makes them reasonable, especially for a central London spot. Overall, it’s a great place for casual Italian food with personality. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends if you don’t mind the lively atmosphere.

We went to Popolo because it was recommended in the local Michelin guide. The food and service was good, but we would not come back a second time, as we expected a bit more in this price range. Especially the size of the portions was a bit disappointing (£20 for 9 Gnocchi and £7.5 for 3 slices of Focaccia).
