Roast
London
The Roast restaurant is situated on Stoney Street at the roof of the splendid Borough Market. Overlooking Borough Market and St. Paul's Cathedral through floor to ceiling windows, the restaurant serves a classic British cuisine prepared with only the freshest produce. The owner Qbal Wahhab opened the restaurant in 2005 after he has successfully established the renowned Cinnamon Club.
The menu of Roast is constantly changing due to seasonality. The ingredients used are from local produce when possible and diners have the chance to watch their meal being cooked in the open kitchen. The menu includes dishes such as the grilled 10oz sirloin steak, the spit roast free range Banham chicken and the fairy ring mushroom tart. As well as the dishes, the wine and the cocktail lists are perpetually evolving to maintain the high standards the restaurant offers.
The restaurant can only be entered through a discreet lift. The ambience is welcoming and warm which is accentuated by the friendly and warm staff. Roast is uniquely designed with an idea of honesty and natural influences in mind. The open kitchen, the very high ceiling and the sprouting grass on the front desk are only a couple of the features displaying Roast's idea. Even though the dining room is huge, a cosy and comfortable atmosphere is maintained within the location thanks to a combination of reasonable priced and delicious food, attentive staff members and the beautiful architecture of the restaurant. The Roast restaurant is open at various points of the day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
