Great food and fun atmosphere! We ate here our first night in London. It was a great place to have some traditional British food and see locals (with their cute pups) throughout the restaurant.

Great service. Classic British Pub / Gasto Bar. Lovely part of the city. I had the Sunday roast and it was exceptional

Incredible. Every meal was wonderful. The front of house lady was bubbly, welcoming, and attentive. Great ambience/seating, and overall just a really enjoyable experience. Left feeling very content after eating a very delicious sticky toffee pudding. Definitely somewhere I’d return to and recommend to friends.

This is my favorite cozy neighborhood restaurant when in London. The food is always good and prepared with passion. The aged beef burger is simple but excuted perfectly. And dessert is the best.

If there was a definition of high-end comfort food done in a modern style, Abingdon would be it. Nestled in a charming neighborhood, the restaurant does not pretend to be fine dining but also certainly not your everyday diner. It is cozy, yet proper. It isn't formal, yet you are treated as such. The Abingdon strikes a rare balance of a comfort food joint you can go on a first date with. The establishment has a lounge / bar and dining area separated out, which I think is great. The lounge looks cozy and fashionable. The menu spans the roots of traditional English food to European and American fares. This is your standard "modern" cuisine, but absolutely pays tribute to roots. The Irish Soda Bread was delectable - simple but filled with warmth. The chicken liver and trout crudo was also truly wel done. The crudo, especially, with the tangy mustard sauce and blood oranges was a great concoction, nearing fine dining greatness. The layered flavor of the fish, dill, the sauce, and blood orange pieces was exquisite. The fish pie was supposed to be the highlight, with lobster bits. It looked near perfect from the exterior, but unfortunately came in a bit bland. Just a bit more salt, pepper and galic would've shot this dish through the atmosphere. The Abingdon is not your every day eatery but it really comes across as it could be. It is not snooty with fine dining pretense yet things feel dialed in and proper. The service was impeccable and friendly. Truly enjoyed the host and servers and my family had a wonderful time. Abingdon is not perfect. But perhaps that's what also makes its charm. If you are in Kensington, you should check them out.
