Theo Randall is the exclusive in-house restaurant of the InterContinental located on Hamilton Place in the heart of the city. Star chef and restaurateur Theo Randall aims to bring fabulous Italian cuisine to its guests, while always having maintaining the highest of standards. Theo Randall at the Intercontinental was named Italian Restaurant of the Year 2008 by the London Restaurant Awards.
At Theo Randall, you can be sure to find only fresh and seasonal dishes on the menu. Based on traditional Italian recipes, the dishes are prepared with attention to detail and passion. The kitchen prepares honest and unpretentious food both simple yet lovingly presented. Among guests’ favourites are dishes such as roast rack of new season's spring lamb with wood roasted carrots and beetroots, Roman artichokes and salsa d'erbe, Scottish wild salmon fillet with grilled zucchini, peppers, aubergines and anchovy sauce and mixed winter green ravioli with Swiss chard, rocket, cima di rape, sheep's ricotta, butter and sage.
The biggest draw for many here, though, will be the pasta. Randall is rightly known as one of London's foremost authorities on pastas, having been invited to write a recipe for the English-language of the legendary Italian culinary bible The Silver Spoon. He made his name at the Michelin-starred River Cafe and Chez Panisse in California where he cut his teeth working beautifully fresh ingredients with a variety of handmade pastas.
The fact that high quality has its price is underlined with the prices for the dishes. A bottle of the house wine costs £25.00 and even more extravagant choices are available. The interior of the Theo Randall’s is elegant and perfect in every detail. Soft lighting and a warm atmosphere will greet you as you enter the tasteful dining room. The waiting staff and the kitchen team are professional and very well-informed. Ask one of the waiters for a recommendation and they'll be happy to recommend a wine pairing to suit the your budget and the dish in mind.
