Truckles of Pied Bull Yard
The Truckles of Pied Bull Yard ale and port house is situated off Bury Place in the heart of the city. The restaurant belongs to the fabulous Davy's group in the United Kingdom serving a modern British menu. Established in 1870, each Davy's wine bar has its own distinct charm, all of them following the same aim: to provide their guests with a dining experience of the highest standard possible.
The menu at the Truckles comprises seasonal dishes prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients available. The à la carte menu includes signature dishes such as spring vegetable and herb risotto with parmesan crisps, Scottish salmon supreme with herbed puy lentils, wilted spinach and sun blush tomato butter and warm grilled corn fed chicken breast served on a bed of Mediterranean vegetable and herb salad. All meals are best topped off with one of the tasty desserts like the pannacotta with raspberry coulis or the farmhouse cheddar or mature blue stilton. The wine menu was designed to offer both complementing wines and wines that can be enjoyed on their own.
The Truckles of Pied Bull Yard was named after the 'Truckle' which is a contraption on wheels for pushing the wine across a table. The restaurant features a dining room, the traditional Davy's wine cellar as well as a heated area in the courtyard for those who wish to smoke. The dining room is equipped with candle-lit tables and sawdust covered floors, as with every dining room of the fantastic Davy's group. Truckles' warm and friendly waiting staff welcomes you from Monday to Friday 11:00 - 23:00 hrs and on Saturday from 11:00 - 16:00 hrs.
