Vatavaran
London
Beoordelingen
A classy, elegant atmosphere that makes it feel like a special place to dine. The cocktails were excellent, and the food was well presented, enjoyable, and a little understated for those looking for bold, spicy flavours. Service was polite but slow.
This was easily the best Indian food we ever had. I went to have dinner at Vatavaran with my family (5 people) and it was outstandingly good. The ambience is very calm, relaxed and chique without seeming too posh. The waiters were incredibly attentive: and the food was delicious. It comes naturally quite spicy for European standards (which we loved), every single drink (try the cocktails! ) and dish (samosas, palak paneer, lamb, duck, scallops, cheese naan, rice etc) which we had was cooked perfectly and flavorful. This restaurant is most definitely worth a visit - we will certainly come back!
VATAVARAN London Wonderful experience we had at your restaurant. The atmosphere was elegant and full of positive energy, and your team’s professionalism ensured that our visit was truly memorable. The restaurant’s design, particularly the green accents and the intimate private bar on the top floor, provided a stunning backdrop for our evening. Every dish we ordered was flawless. As a fan of spicy food, I found the chicken delicious, and the desserts were truly outstanding—easily some of the best I have experienced in London. I also want to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service. Your team went above and beyond by arranging a great table for us, assisting with photos, and promptly replacing a drink that did not suit our taste. Furthermore, it was a very kind gesture not to charge extra for the birthday cake, which we truly valued. Thank you for your creativity and attention to detail. I left feeling inspired and look forward to returning soon. I will certainly be recommending VATAVARAN London to others seeking an exceptional dining experience in the city.
Very good food and the ambience is also very lively. Staff is very good and friendly. Service is fast and explains every dish nicely. Food is delicious, very good. I think this deserves a Michelin star, since the chef already has earned at other restaurants, he deserves one for his restaurant as well. Better than many Michelin restaurants I have tried. This is also better than sister restaurant manthan, though that is also very good.
This restaurant offers a brilliant modern twist on classic Indian cuisine, and from the moment we arrived, the entire experience felt special. The cocktails were nothing short of epic—beautifully balanced and expertly crafted—while the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely delightful. The dining room itself is stylish yet comfortable, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable meal. We began with the poppadoms and chutneys, which were exceptional—easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere in the world, full of depth and flavour far beyond the usual offering. For mains, I chose the tandoor-cooked wild prawns with wild mustard, honey, chickpeas, and curry leaf. Not only was the presentation stunning, but every bite was vibrant, perfectly cooked, and incredibly enjoyable. My husband opted for the lamb Barbat with burnt spices and garlic, which was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. Alongside, we shared the Tadka Dal—comforting yellow lentils with cumin and tomatoes—and a garlic chilli naan that was fresh, flavourful, and the perfect accompaniment. Having dined at many Indian restaurants across the world, this experience truly stands out as one of the best we’ve ever had. Every element—from the food to the service to the atmosphere—came together beautifully. We left genuinely impressed and already looking forward to our next visit.
