Gaucho Covent Garden never disappoints. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive, polished and warm, exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant of this calibre. The food was outstanding, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. A truly wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back.

I had an amazing experience at Gaucho Covent Garden for their pre-theatre menu. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, perfectly done and full of flavour. The starter was also absolutely delicious and a great way to begin the meal. The service and atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal before a show in Covent Garden, and I’ll certainly be coming back!

Arrival: - The hostess was welcoming and friendly. - Rating: 5/5 Service: * The gentleman who served us was friendly, but………. The service started off slow, and progressed to non existent! * We frequently had to top up our water and wine. * On numerous occasions, we were left with no water and wine on the table. * We stacked up our own plates, cutlery, glasses, etc. hoping someone would come and clear them. * He also kept forgetting items we’d ordered. * When he saw us pouring our own water and wine, he even joked and said, thank you for doing my job 🤔 * This was very embarrassing, especially as I recommended Gaucho to my friends who were visiting me from Italy. * Rating: 1/5 Atmosphere: * It was a little dark, but I loved the decor. * They also played some lovely background music. * Overall, I liked the vibe. * Rating: 4/5 Our Order: * Steak Tartare - Portion Size: Okay - Price: £18.00 - Rating: 5/5 * Rosemary Focaccia - Portion Size: Okay - Price: £5.95 per portion - As my friends are Italian, and they love bread. - The focaccia was nice, but we couldn’t taste any rosemary. - Rating: 2/5 * Cheese and Truffle Croquettes - Portion Size: Good - Price: £5.95 per portion - Amazing! So flavourful! - We all loved the homemade tomato sauce! - Rating: 5/5 * Mash Potato - Portion size: Okay - Price: £5.50 - A little dry. Definitely not as creamy as other mash potatoes I’ve tried. - Rating: 3/5 * Spinach - Portion Size: Okay - Price: £6.00 - I highly recommend squeezing lemon juice over the spinach. Game changer 😋 - Rating: 4/5 * Tomato Salad - Portion Size: Small, considering the price. - Price: £6.95 - Rating: 5/5 * Gaucho Sampler - Portion size: Good - Price: £130.00 - Ribeye, Sirloin, Rump & Tenderloin - Most of the beef was cooked to perfection, but there were a few bits that were overcooked and dry - Rating: 3/5 * Pepper Sauce - Portion size: Okay - Price: £4.00 per Portion - Delicious - Rating: 5/5 * Malbec & Bone-marrow Jus - Portion size: Okay - Price: £4.00 per Portion - Rating: 5/5 * Kids Pasta with tomato sauce - Portion size: Small - Price: £9.00 - Not the best - Rating: 3/5 * Bottle of Chianti - Price: £80 per bottle - Rating: 5/5 * Glass of Pompey Brut Royal - Price: £15.00 per glass - Rating: 5/5 * Bottle of still water - Price: £5.50 per bottle * Bottle of sparkling water - Price: £5.50 per bottle Additions. information: - They kindly provided a colouring book and crayons for my friend’s child. Overall Rating: 3/5

Very busy restaurant. 2 floors for diners. The front of house staff were abit curt, no welcome or smiles. We were sat in a nice spacious booth, which was comfortable and keep us fairly private from other diners. The waiter was polite and friendly. Nice food and drinks menu. Very quick service from ordering to table on both courses. Great steaks and lovely side dishes. Great restaurant for group gatherings.

We chose Gaucho Covent Garden to celebrate our anniversary using a Buyagift voucher for a premium 3-course dinner with champagne, and the experience was honestly shocking. We even paid extra to upgrade, expecting something special. On arrival we clearly explained we had the voucher menu, yet we were also handed the normal menu. Only later did we realise the “special” Buyagift menu we were given was priced at £109 — for a meal that would have cost around £50 directly in the restaurant. It felt like a complete rip-off. We asked to speak to the general manager, Christina. While she apologised, she refused to help resolve the situation, saying the voucher had already been redeemed and there was nothing she could do. When we asked her to contact Buyagift, she declined and said it was Friday so no one would answer. That response was extremely dismissive, especially given this was our anniversary celebration. To make matters worse, the service charge was calculated on the inflated £109 amount rather than the actual value of the meal we were served. We left feeling overcharged, misled and completely let down. What should have been a special evening turned into a very disappointing and upsetting experience. I would not recommend.
