What a lovely experience at Hawksmoor! We’ve had the two different versions of ribeyes! I’ve had the longhorn beef and my fiancé had her Hawksmoor Eight one - and we’ve both loved it so much - the difference is clear too, longhorn beef was so juicy and fatty where as the other variant was more tender - medium rare was done so perfectly! Our waiter Eve was so amazing and very helpful when making decisions , we’ve had such great suggestions from her! - very grateful for the cheesecake suggestion and the beautiful gesture for our anniversary. We’re looking to come back again and try other cuts of the meat!
One of the best meals I have eaten in my life. The setting is perfect. The food is exceptional. The price, despite being on the slightly higher end, is absolutely justified when food of that quality arrives at your table. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you! 👏🏼
We had the 20th anniversary menu. The food was as usual, absolutely delicious. And we were glad we were able to enjoy the special menu as the steak was huge and very well cooked. We had a very relaxing time downstairs in the restaurant overlooking the water. Even when we wanted to change table, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were attentive without being over the top. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hawkmoor to anyone.
Visited Hawksmoor Wood Wharf with the mindset of experiencing the kitchen of a very promising steak-focused restaurant, and overall it was a very positive experience. The hospitality from the moment we arrived was warm and professional, and you could clearly see that the whole team is working in the right direction. The service was extremely attentive and efficient — I honestly didn’t notice a single table needing to ask for something, because before guests even had the chance, there were already team members there to assist. That level of awareness and floor presence really stood out to me. As for the food, coming from a background where meat is a very important part of our culture, I had high expectations for the steak. What I tried was definitely tasty, cooked properly, flavourful, and overall worth the price point. However, it wasn’t quite the kind of steak that makes you say, “I need to come back specifically for this.” It met expectations, but didn’t fully exceed them. Out of the starters, the sweet potato was definitely the highlight for me and the one dish that genuinely stood out. The rest of the dishes were good — not disappointing at all — but they felt more like solid supporting elements rather than dishes that truly excite you or create a memorable start to the meal. More comforting than surprising. What I really appreciated was the team itself and the way they carried the service. The only thing that surprised me slightly was the relaxed dress style and casual movement of some staff members (shorts, trainers, etc.). At first it felt unexpected for this type of restaurant, but after seeing the atmosphere they create, I actually understood that this relaxed confidence is probably part of why the hospitality feels so natural and genuine. Overall, I would definitely return to try more of the menu, but I’d go with the expectation of a very solid, professional and enjoyable dining experience rather than something dramatically innovative or unforgettable.
Hawksmoor has always been my favourite steak restaurant ever since visiting the original one in Seven Dials, Covent Garden — which sadly no longer exists. This time, we went to the Canary Wharf branch, and it’s probably the best-looking Hawksmoor out of all of them. Sitting on a floating platform with glass windows throughout, it genuinely feels like you’re dining on a yacht. We visited on a Friday night and started the evening with drinks in the downstairs bar before heading upstairs for dinner. We were given a lovely corner window table, which made the experience even better. The service was fantastic throughout — our waitress was very knowledgeable, attentive, and made us feel well looked after. For dinner, I had the 450g rib eye steak with beef dripping chips and the honey & herb spinach on the side. The steak was excellent as expected, and the spinach was surprisingly good as well. Dessert was a pear Bakewell tart, which was a great way to finish the meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so relaxing that we ended up staying for coffee afterwards just to spend a bit more time there. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. It is definitely on the pricier side, especially once cocktails are involved, and the beef dripping chips were a little small in portion size. Other than that, it’s honestly hard to fault the place.
