Abu Zaad
London
Abu Zaad has two restaurants, one in West London on Edgware road, and another on Uxbridge road, very close to the Westfield shopping centre. The restaurant specialises in Syrian cuisine, which is hard to come by in London, with restaurants favouring Turkish and Lebanese dishes. The popularity of Abu Zaad is undoubtedly because they provide an authentic and great tasting Syrian menu at an affordable price. The Abu Zaad restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, as well as providing catering for corporate events when required.
The menu begins with the specialities of the Head Chef, these are Macmour lamb shanks and Afghani rice with tender lamb. There is also a whole section dedicated to barbequed meats, a traditional Syrian cooking technique. There is also a fish menu if you do not fancy meat or there is vegetarian in your party.
The interior of the restaurant is as pleasant and authentically Middle Eastern as the food, with Damascene vistas painted on the walls, hanging rugs and atmospheric lanterns. Abu Zaad is perfect for the whole family, as well as couples who are looking to try something a little different from the norm.
