Bea’s of Bloomsbury is the number one stop for homemade cakes, afternoon teas and light, savoury lunches. In a small open-plan pastry kitchen they bake the cupcakes, loaf cakes, cookies, brownies, marshmallows and meringues for all of the shops (Bloomsbury, St. Paul’s, Maltby Street).
The bakery sells all sorts of sweet treats to be enjoyed either in or outside the café, and also sells a number of its own gifts and sweet treats for you to take home with you. Bea’s is particularly famous for its afternoon teas, which include scones with clotted cream and jam, cupcakes, a selection of mini meringues, marshmallows and brownies, a selection of savoury baguettes, a pot of tea, and optional Moet & Chandon champagne. This is available Monday – Friday from 2:30-7:00pm, and Saturday - Sunday from 12 pm - 7:00pm. Full afternoon tea costs £19pp, or £26.50 with champagne. A sweet afternoon tea is also offered, which includes everything except the baguettes.
Bea's also specialises in savoury food and offers a daily lunch menu. The options vary from day-to-day because they depend on the seasonal produce available at the nearby partner farms.
