One word: pizza. Franco Manca (locations in Chiswick, Stratford and Brixton) produces some of the best pizza in the city and certainly, for anyone dying of thirst in the pizza desert that is Great Britain, it offers an oasis of wood-fired Neapolitan pies.
The service is fast and the pizzaiolos (pizza chefs) are clearly dedicated to their craft - hence the queue every time we've been there. But it moves quickly and before you know it, you'll be seated and the quick cooking time means you'll be served promptly.
The plain pie (Margarita - mozzarella, red sauce, basil) is easily the best, but the restaurant also offers daily specials depending on what's available.
Prices are cheap too, with most items coming in at under a tenner. A small selection of excellent soft drinks, wine and beer is also available.
