Paradiso Restaurant
London
The Paradiso restaurant is an authentic Italian eatery that is located on Englands Lane in the delightful Primrose Hill area of London, which is a favoured haunt of celebrities and boho-chic fashion victims wearing ridiculously flouncy clothing and defensive pouts. Still, the dress sense and career path of your likely fellow diners will not distract too much from your enjoyment of the cuisine served at Paradiso, such is its excellence.
Paradiso is open every day of the week, serving lunch between noon and 3pm every day, then opening again from 6pm until 11pm (11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays) for dinner. The interior décor is classically Italian, but for the lack of a few shady-looking Sicilians slicing garlic cloves with razors, one could be fooled into thinking they had walked on to a Scorcese set. But fear not, you're in good hands here, with the waiting staff working hard to ensure all diners enjoy a memorable meal and enjoyable lunch or evening out.
The menu at Paradiso is varied and well-priced, comprising a number of instantly recognisable dishes that are sure to get diners salivating. The pizzas at Paradiso are among some of the best found anywhere in London, with the Contadina (topped with aubergine, garlic and pepperoni) and the Paradiso full house (boasting every topping on the menu) firm favourites, while the pasta dishes are equally delightful, particularly the boscaiola. Well worth trying too are the chef's specialities, which include honey roast chicken and grilled king prawns. The wine list is exclusively Italian and has a number of well-priced labels.
