No trip to Portobello Road in Notting Hill is complete without popping into The Hummingbird Bakery for a fluffy cupcake topped with buttercream icing.
The Hummingbird Bakery has become an iconic high street brand since first opening its doors in 2004, aided by a lack of truly authentic American-style baking in London.
With five stores now open across the city (South Kensington, Spitalfields, Islington, Soho & Notting Hill) and a delivery service, these delectable treats are all made on-site and include cupcakes, layer cakes, brownies, pies, cheesecakes and muffins.
Responsible for introducing whoopie pies and red velvet cake to the UK, The Hummingbird continues to innovate introducing new cupcake flavours through its ‘daily special’ range.
A range of baked goods can be made to order for weddings, birthdays, events and special occasions.
The Hummingbird recipes are no secret, with two successful cookbooks published in recent years.
