Lovely place. We sat in the outdoor area which was clean and stylish and had a nice vibe. The food was absolutely delicious, however I found the moussaka to be quite a small portion for the price. The chicken, milk bread and hummus with beef short ribs were stand outs. Will definitely be back!
Came as a group of 5 and sat outside - Staff were accommodating when we asked to move tables which we appreciated. Food was okay (hit or miss) definitely get the pitta and the aubergine together as the “salsa” with the pitta (fresh and warm)was basically just tomato. I would recommend the ceviche and chicken (the highlight of the meal) but the butternut and cardamom risotto was a big let down - quite bland as it was missing something.
The food let us down. All the main courses were overcooked. But the sharing / small plates were lovely and we enjoyed the hummus, squid and ceviche. If we were to come again, we would only offer the ceviche, but multiple times as it's that good. Great service as well. This isn't a typical greek restaurant in any way. It doesn't feel greek when you walk through the doors. But is enjoyable, and with us having two 1 year olds joining in a table of six, it was just good enough for the price.
Visited Kapara in a group to have lunch. The decor of the restaurant was very stylish and bright. Unfortunately, the food was not great. My starter of squid was too dry as it had been chopped up in little pieces so it was overcooked. The main of belly lamb did not taste any better. The lamb was dry, the gravy was really watery and did not resemble a gravy and it did not taste of anything. The potatoes were quite salty and again quite dry. To top it off, there was string left on the meat which had not been removed. The only good thing was the veg. The dessert of cheese cake was very dense, which was not to my liking. I was not the only one who did not like the food. One of the party returned their lamb and opted for the chicken which they said was better. Apparently, the aubergine starter was also good. Kevin our server was great and very attentive, passing on our feedback to the necessary people. It's a shame as the restaurant was lovely, but the food was a huge let down.
We had a really lovely dinner at Kapara in Soho last night. The food was great especially the beef skewers and the lamb neck, both full of flavour and beautifully cooked. We also shared the hummus with pita and the ceviche to start, which were fresh but the note the small plates are very small. The only small downside was the wine carafes they really need replacing. Even the waiter struggled when pouring and it spilled quite easily, which isn’t ideal (especially with red wine and a nice outfit involved!). Thankfully nothing landed on me, but it was a close call. That aside, it was a genuinely enjoyable dinner and we’d happily return.
