Al Duca
London
The Al Duca restaurant draws its influence from one of the most celebrated gastronomic regions on earth - central and northern Italy. Modern yet elegant, the Al Duca is an acclaimed restaurant that combines reasonable prices with fresh ingredients, a wonderful atmosphere and dazzlingly original takes on some of the most renowned Italian dishes.
Located in St James , the Al Duca's clientele is a mixture of loyal regulars, word-of-mouth beneficiaries, locals and passing trade. Owned by Claudio Pulze, this famous chef has ensured his ideals, expertise and attention to detail in the kitchen are evident throughout the dining area of the restaurant.
Although exceptionally elegant and stylish, the food served at Al Duca is surprisingly simple yet extraordinarily good. Some of the house specials include Melanzane grigliate con burrata e olive nere, which is chargrilled aubergine with black olives and creamy mozzarella; homemade Reginette with Italian bacon and peas; and an exquisite Tiramisu for dessert. The menu also includes some exceptional Italian wines.
The decor at Al Duca comprises warm terracotta and olive colourings, with oak timber and mosaic tiling to create a classic Italian feel that remains modern, hip and inviting, attracting all types of diners. As always, no Italian meal would be complete if it were not washed down with a fortifying shot of Grappa - an Italian tradition, and therefore an Al Duca tradition!
