Home to the suited and booted of London's high-flying western borough, Mayfair, Aurelia shines with extravagant, cream-walled-and-floored Italian appeal. It's very, very fancy inside, making it somewhere you have to dress up smartly to attend. The prices, as you might have figured, match the luxurious decor too but, being where you are in the city, they're not surprising.
Paying more than you would in other places around London nets you a more than satisfying result, though. The gorgeous charcuterie boards of heavy oak piled with folds of sliced meat - chorizo, prosciutto, parma ham - make for excellent starters, while risottos and other hearty pasta dishes, fish, and slabs of succulent meat from the rotisserie engage a stomach-filling range of main courses.
The service at Aurelia is spot on. The waiting staff attend your every need at the click of a finger (probably best not to actually click your fingers at them) without the merest hint of exasperation. They help add a sense of comfort to the rest of the atmosphere within the place. It's non-pretentious. It's inviting.
Finally, something that Aurelia are proud to boast, their aperitivo dishes. Aperitivo is a traditional Italian ritual which involves snack-sized morsels consumed before a meal. They're free of charge, delicious, and are available all week from 19:30 - 21:30. They're also showcasing some live music to pair perfectly with the sensational pre-dinner teasers.
