The prestigious Cecconi's is a real hit with the high-flying Mayfair community, and attracts others from all over the city and further afield like a magnet does a paperclip. The restaurant itself is generously spacious with several four-seater circular tables spotted about, mixed in with oval-shaped tables sidelined by green velvet Chesterfield sofas on one edge.
Elsewhere, a three-sided bar juts into the middle of the room and is surrounded by rows of high-legged seats - all of which the same colour and material as the Chesterfields. The bar itself is fully stocked with a pyramid of exotic bottles, while fine wines fringe the top layer in a glass ceiling cabinet.
On the menu they serve a breakfast (and a set breakfast alternative) and brunch list. Then there's an all-day menu where you'll find the likes of breaded baby mozzarella, Umbrian sausages, two types of octopus - warmed with potatoes and olives, and braised baby - meatballs in a tomato sauce, and grilled veggies which form the sides and/or snacks list (or 'Cichetti'). As far as main courses go, we'd recommend the organic salmon, duck breast or ossobuco (braised veal shanks). The meat is fall-off-the-bone stuff and melts like butter in the mouth.
Before you leave, make sure you've tried a glass from their massive wine list. It serves as a great way to finish any meal here, trust us.
