Lola Rojo
London
The Ins and Outs
This place is tailor-made for good fun Spanish eating with friends on a Friday night though, of course, any night makes no difference. There's plenty of space available inside such a modern and bright restaurant, although the tables may be a little too packed in.
Getting past that, prices are reasonable - or at least what you'd expect from a London establishment - at about £5 per dish. You can plump for 3 or 4 tapas dishes, or a couple of them plus a paella. Either way, you'll leave full of satisfaction.
From the Menu
The cuisine here, apart from succulent tapas, is one that tries to focus on keeping its dishes contemporary and surprising. It totally succeeds here by providing such delights as the black rice paella with squid and saffron or pumpkin and rabbit paella. However, going back to basics with classic tapas is also something Lola Rojo does well. Grilled lamb cutlets, Iberian ham croquetas, crispy chestnut mushrooms with Manchego cheese, dry-smoked tuna and other cured meats are all up for option here.
