The cuisine at Mao Tai is broadly pan-Asian, delivering fresh and exciting cooking served in a stylish and innovative manner that is sure to appeal to diners of all ages and palates of all types. Lovers of Thai, Chinese and European cooking will be bowled over by the brilliance of the culinary brilliance of the kitchen staff. Some wonderful dishes are served for both lunch and dinner, including a steamed prawn & pea shoot pot broth, a lamb tobanyaki and surf clams with Chinese sausage, almond chicken, salmon and black bean salad and pork and chilli with noodles.
Aside from the cuisine, the Mao Tai has a fantastic cocktail menu that is both innovative and well-priced, while the wine list is very thorough and wide-ranging, with some famous labels from all over the world to choose from, although there is a particular, and understandable, emphasis placed on French wines. Mao Tai's opening hours are 6.15pm until 11.30pm Monday to Saturday, and from noon until 3pm and then 5pm to 10pm on Sundays.
