Oscar
London
Situated in the cultural heart of the city of London, the Oscar bar and restaurant at Charlotte Street Hotel is a brightly decorated and vivacious establishment that is open from 7am until 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 10.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays. In the summer, the front opens out on to Charlotte Street, making for an impressive al fresco experience that proves understandably popular with hotel patrons, locals and tourists.
Inside, Oscar boasts a colourfully artistic décor, which helps to foster an atmosphere of warmth and welcome, as do the hardworking team of staff. The restaurant's lengthy opening hours ensure that it is perennially popular, but never too busy. At breakfast time, hotel guests mingle with early risers on their way to work, enjoying the fresh atmosphere and impressive cuisine, none more so than the Oscar breakfast, which is any cooked breakfast of one's choosing, fresh fruit, baked goods, toasts, coffees, teas and juices. There are smaller options too, such as Greek yoghurt, omelettes, all manner of baps and egg dishes, and Canadian pancakes too.
At lunchtime and in the evening too, Oscar's set menu proves a popular dining option, with sample dishes of this three-course spectacular including crayfish and mango salad or baked pepper for starters, chargrilled swordfish with mache and mandarin salad or roast duck breast with apple and wild mushroom for mains, and triple chocolate parfait or a cheese selection for dessert. The a la carte menu is also highly extensive, while patrons also enjoy afternoon tea and late night cocktails and wines from the sleek bar.
