The Cinnamon Club
London
Located on Great Peter Street a stone’s throw from Parliament, the Cinnamon Club is a London institution. In a grand room with high ceilings and shelves lined with old books (it is a former library), chef Vivek Singh prepares Indian-influenced dishes with exquisite presentation and delivered by a slick front-of-house.
Prices are high, but a meal here is memorable – the room is grand but snug with a clubby feel, and the food is very good. Dishes focus predominantly on seasonal British ingredients, but with an injection of flavour and flair from the subcontinent – think tandoori breast of partridge, or roast plaice with Bengali crab.
A special-occasion establishment to savour, come here for the exceptional food and service, its discreet location and service.
The set menu is affordable, so as with all other high-end establishments, consider trying it at lunch when a pared down but still deliciously accomplished set of dishes is available at a fraction of the cost.
Opening times: Monday - Saturday lunch: 12:00 - 14:45, dinner: 18:00 – 22:45
