Woodlands
London
The Woodlands, Hampstead, is a genuine Indian restaurant situated on Heath Street in the very heart of London. Opened in 2005, it is a firm favourite among the locals. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with stone, marble and water features whereby a warm and unique ambience is created.
Woodlands is one of four Woodlands restaurants in the London area. Originated in India, the first Woodlands opened in 1938 and became the first of eighteen existing Woodlands restaurants in India. In 1981, the owners launched the first Woodlands in the United Kingdom in 1981. The success of the restaurants is evidence enough for the quality of their food.
The menu of the Woodland restaurants is purely vegetarian. The name Woodlands is synonymous with the enchantment of the South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Their selection of dishes ranges from dosas to lemon rice to excellent bathura – soft Indian fried bread. Highly recommendable is their Kulfi dessert; Indian ice-cream flavoured in mango and pistachio.
Woodlands restaurant offers an enjoyable dining experience for both locals and tourists alike.
