Flat Iron Covent Garden

The best meat I've tasted probably so far..... I can't remember the cut but I took it with the fries +wild mushroom sauce, and my partner had burger with the aubergine side dish. Everything was tasty and in normal portions if you had breakfast, however for this price range the veggies should be more or cheaper. The atmosphere was ok - we were taken downstairs where it was a little dark. Not great not terrible. The staff were very friendly and quick to help, they seemed to be very organised.
The steak was delicious and full of flavor, although one piece was a bit chewy. The service was excellent and the staff were absolutely lovely. The mashed potatoes were incredibly smooth and creamy. Great atmosphere and location overall — definitely not a place to miss.
Have visited this steakhouse chain a few times now, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always fantastic, and the restaurant layout and decor are beautifully done with spacious seating. One of the best highlights is the complimentary free-flow snack that you can refill endlessly😍both adults and kids absolutely love it! For the steaks, they offer a wide range of choices; while the quality varies depending on the price point you choose, I find the average quality to be very decent and solid. The most fun part has to be at the end, where you can exchange your little steak marker for an ice cream! It’s such a creative and interesting touch that both adults and children enjoy. Staff are friendly, and the service is great. It gets quite crowded, but given the overall excellent experience, it’s definitely worth a visit for families!
Visited the Flat Iron in Covent Garden on a Tuesday evening. Even though it was a weekday, we still had to wait for about 15 minutes. Funnily enough, they seated us downstairs where it was actually quite spacious and empty, so I’m not entirely sure why there was a wait—but hey, at least we got to enjoy our meal in a nice, quiet space! Flat Iron is a super famous chain in the UK, but this was my first time back in 3-4 years. I was so happy to find that the taste hasn't changed at all—still absolutely delicious! I ordered my steak medium-rare, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. In fact, my friend had just visited another Flat Iron branch two days ago and loved it so much that they insisted on coming again with me! For sides, we got the crispy bone marrow garlic mash and creamed spinach. For sauces, the staff recommended the peppercorn and wild mushroom. I went with the wild mushroom, and my friend tried the homemade smoked chilli mayo. Both were great! To be honest, I still think a simple dip in salt is the best way to enjoy this steak, so the sauce wasn't strictly necessary—but it was my first time trying their sauces, and they were surprisingly tasty. Also, I’m not 100% sure if the ice cream flavors vary by location, but the Covent Garden branch served this coffee-flavored ice cream coated in dark chocolate shavings... and oh my god, it was LEGENDARY. 😭❤️ I would honestly come back just for the ice cream alone. It was the absolute highlight of the night!
Visited with my family on a special occasion courtesy of Gennaro.. As usual, high expectations & super high delivery. Busy for a Monday evening. Our waiter, Lee, was super helpful & attentive. The food was incredible, we had the Wagyu Sirloin, Flat Iron & Ribeye plus all the sides except Green Salad.. lol. The cocktails & mocktails were great too! The Clever was finally in stock so of course we had to grab one of those too! The Salted Caramel Ice Creams are beautifully smooth with lovely cones, a wonderful gesture of miniature clevers! Will definitely be back & love to try the other locations!
