Il Sugo

Just finished dinner here and felt compelled to write a review! The food was so good and so plentiful. I managed to convinced my mother in law not to stay in Covent Garden and eat dinner after a Matinee show and I'm so pleased I did. Considering the restaurant we walked out of was charging £25+ for a carbonara versus the very reasonable £12 here and the portion was massive, the quality great and it was delicious. Keep up the great work!!
It was such a lovely experience. Our server was such a sweet lady. Always smiling loved her service.
Came by on a Friday evening. Cosy vibes and great service! I'm a big eater, so I was pleased when we were served generously. I'll definitely come again :)
Where these days can you find a FULL plate of food? Not many places in London. Il Sugo on the other hand offer a proper hearty Italian plate. Filled edge to edge with beautiful silky cheesy gnocchi or any pasta really having had a look at other diners plates, the pizza at the opposite table looked thin and crispy, I don't think I saw the girl come up for air, not while I was knee deep in my plate. My friend had the seafood risotto which tasted legit, a ton of seafood in which again is rare for London, perfectly cooked rice and full great taste. Can't recommend this place enough. The 5 star reviews don't disappoint
You got to get the gnocchi, it was very good. Milanese chicken was nice but as good as the gnocchi. Tiramisu was also good but I couldn’t taste any alcohol, probably because it needs to be safe for kids too Staff were friendly. Hard to get their attention when the restaurant got busy and if you’re sat near the back. 10% service charge. Watch out when going to the toilet, a massive drop in the first step down, hold onto the handrail.
