We stopped at La Gamba for lunch and had an excellent experience. They serve authentic Spanish tapas, and everything we ordered was delicious. We tried the eggplant dip with chips, cod fritters, chicken orzo, and the tortilla of the day. The eggplant dip was the absolute standout—smoky, silky smooth, and incredibly flavorful, with a rich, creamy finish. The cod fritters, chicken orzo, and stuffed tortilla were all excellent and close contenders. For dessert, my kids shared the Basque cheesecake, and it was simply outstanding—rich, creamy, and about as classic a Basque cheesecake as you could hope for. The service was friendly and efficient, with our food arriving promptly. The restaurant also offers lovely seating both indoors and outside, making it a great spot for a relaxed lunch in central London.
Really great experience here as a gluten free person. They actually shared their allergen menu which answered all of my questions! It was delicious and the wine I offer was lovely too. Quick service before the theatre
We popped in here for the 6 course set menu with wine paring after making a reservation on a Saturday night. The place is located on Southbank and just off the Thames; great location! The wines were delicious and perfectly complimented the dishes. The tapas dishes were well crafted and were very flavoursome. The dishes started with a beautifully balanced croquette and the dishes kept coming with equal grace.
Second time here. The 6 dish tasting menu is great value and food is overall really tasty. At some point plates took quite a while to be delivered but the waiter realised and we got a free top up of our wine. Overall great dinner. Thank you!
Loved the place. The service is absolutely amazing and staff really friendly and polite and know the job and food well, very attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious. We had a set menu and Sangria, spent 2 hrs and didn't want to leave. They are very busy in the evening so I would say a booking should be better to ensure you don't miss out. Music was slightly too loud for my ears, however my friends didn't not think so. This place is now on my list so definitely will be returning.
