No.67 Cafe & Restaurant
London
Peckham, south London, formerly the stage on which Rodney and Del Boy performed their market tradesmen sit-com Only Fools and Horses, is now part of the uber hip and trendy art scene whose reputation is growing like wildfire throughout the city. And it's within an art gallery that you'll find No.67, the South London Gallery to be precise.
The setting for this locally recognised cafe/restaurant is the ground floor of a Victorian town house which rubs shoulders with the South London Gallery. Inside, the glass-fronted buffet-bar shows you what you can expect that day (the menu changes daily). So there could be ox heart skewers, chorizo and aioli sandiwches, a selection of exotic salads, or even a gazpacho. They also provide smoothies, cocktails, unusual beers, and some quality cups of coffee.
What really pulls in the punters here is the 'full Spanglish' breakfast which includes all the usual suspects of a full English but with the Spanish twist of chorizo slices and spicy Spanish beans. Having said that, they are known for some of the thickest, creamiest porridge this side of the river. So, if you ever wake up with a hole in your belly that needs filling with food at exceedingly low prices - we're talking less than a fiver on average for a breakfast - head to No.67 and see what we - and everyone else - are talking about.
