From delicate laminated pastries to newly launched soft serve, this visit delivered plenty of seasonal flavours and a few standout favourites. We visited Covent Garden branch to try the exclusive new weekend specials, including the Coconut & Passion Dome and the latest soft serve launch. It was the perfect bakery stop on a hot day in London, with a mix of pastries, matcha drinks and something cold to finish. The space had a relaxed atmosphere, with a steady buzz but still felt comfortable enough to enjoy everything at an easy pace. The display looked inviting, and the seasonal bakery selection immediately caught our attention. The Coconut & Passion Dome featured a charcoal croissant shell filled with coconut diplomate cream and passionfruit ganache, finished with vanilla syrup, more passionfruit ganache and desiccated coconut. The Vanilla Bun was soft, buttery and exactly what you want from a classic bakery staple. My favourite pastry was the Lemon & Strawberry Paille. The beautifully laminated layers were light and delicate, with bright lemon cream and soft strawberry bringing a fresh summer flavour. My wife really enjoyed the Rose Blossom Matcha. I tried the Mango Matcha Dream, although it was not quite for me. The Honeycomb Brew, made with fresh cold brew and smooth honey cream, was a much better fit and a great way to start the day. A big thank you to Simone for looking after my wife and me. His friendly approach and excellent service made the visit even more enjoyable. This is a great weekend stop for couples, pastry lovers and anyone looking for seasonal treats in Covent Garden. I would happily return for the soft serve and Lemon & Strawberry Paille. Save this for your next London bakery visit.
It's in a nice location in covent garden and good for people watching as reviews stated from the top floor. It's a spacious place with good interiors and seating and people don't feel packed together. Service is good and friendly but it did look like they had a suspicious eye on anyone walking in without coming straight to the counter. The items on display looked good and freshly made so I had a tough time deciding on what to try bit finally settled on a coffee and the tiramisu danish and chocolate pistachio bun. Another odd thing at this point was them giving me options of where I can sit even though the place was reasonably empty. I should be able to sit in any available space rather than having to choose between a few options provided by staff. The coffee was quite bitter and had to leave half of it. The chocolate pistachio bun was buttery and stuffy but a bit stodgy and on the salty side for me. There was hardly any pistachio in it and it was more of a chocolate bun. The tiramisu danish had a sinful amount of coffee flavoured cream and was a treat. It was a heavy desert and was the star of the show. Considering the price, it was a disappointing experience and it's one of the Instagram worthy places influencers are paid to promote not for the food but the photo opportunities.
Absolutely loved my visit to Chestnut Bakery in Covent Garden! The location is beautiful, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Everything we tried was incredibly delicious, and you can really taste how fresh the pastries are. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was very friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful, which made the experience even better. A lovely spot for breakfast, coffee, pastries, or a light meal. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a wonderful experience at Chestnut Bakery. The bakery items were absolutely yummy, fresh, and full of flavor. The coffee was also really good—perfectly brewed and paired beautifully with the treats.I will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!
Location was good, it was clean and well lit. The view is a good people watcher location. The food.... the drink was super sweet, I've got a sweet tooth and i felt i hit my daily sugar intake from that 1 drink. The pistachio raspberry double baked crossiant was also hyper sweet, the textures were right. It was just tooo sweet for me. The bread thingy, was... tasteless. Just texture, i wouldnt recommend it. It was sustenance rather than tasty main. Staff were 10/10! Friendly, helpful and attentive. Very caring and easy to approach
