Mountain Beak Street

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London. Every single item we tried on the menu was packed with flavour and memorable. The staff was also incredibly friendly while respecting our privacy, something quite rare nowadays. I could not recommend this place more. We payed 160 pounds for 2 people and a glass of wine each. And given how good the food and quantity was, I feel it is incredibly well priced.
Fantastic dining experience! The service was exceptional, and our server’s recommendations were spot on. We especially loved the wild mushrooms, oysters with plum and seasonal veg peppers, they were absolutely delicious. The desserts were amazing too. A wonderful meal from start to finish!
Came here last year with a dear friend, had to return again for their wonderful service and great food. Sophie served us tonight and she was fantastic - attentive, helpful, and delightfully knowledgeable about their menu offerings. Their tripe, bread, grilled sobressada were return favorites; their duck was fantastic last time. This time, we had oyster with plum, wild mushrooms (everybody's favorite of the night), squid with black pudding, mutton chops, and their Friesian 8-years aged beef rib. Instead of their upstairs dining room, which gets more attention with their open kitchen, we were downstairs, which was also charming and cozy.
The food was really good. I really enjoyed the wild mushrooms. The wood fired rice is a must order. Amazing how much flavor they put in the rice, and the crispy top was incredible. The beef short rib was pretty standard. The starters were good. Server was friendly and took time to explain. The atmosphere was loud and the seats are very tight.
I was lucky enough to go to Mountain Restaurant for my birthday and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty. We were sat at a great table which give us a superb view of the entire restaurant. Our server was more than helpful with the menu when we sat down. We began by having a vermouth as we perused the menu. He then suggested the cured beef which was an absolutely fantastic suggestion. We then ordered squid and the infamous spider crab omelette while sipping on a mountain martini.(highly recommend) For our mains, we opted for the Jersey beef sirloin. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait which was fine with us as we sipped on a carafe of red wine. The beef when it arrived was absolutely delicious with perfect seasoning and so much flavour. Every bite was incredible. We were so full at this point we had no room for dessert, which means I will definitely have to come back.
