Had gluten free pasta, which is always good thing. Fun stop that is close to the London Eye. My grandma had the steak and it was more medium well done than medium. Overall we had a good time.

Had such a lovely experience at The Strings during our Noche Española evening. A big thank you to Santy for hosting our group so warmly. The food was fantastic, the live music created the perfect atmosphere, and the hospitality made everyone feel truly welcome. A beautiful spot for relaxed evenings, good conversation and shared experiences. Highly recommended.

The staff was friendly, but they may want to rethink leading with the loo code the moment guests walk in. Not only was the code immediately offered, but a sticky note with the code was also placed on our table. Since the code is already posted on the sign outside the entrance, it might feel more natural to simply provide it when guests ask. The food itself was nice overall. The bruschetta had good flavor, though taking a little extra time to cut the tomatoes smaller would really improve the dish. The pasta, however, was cooked perfectly and tasted lovely

A touch of heaven, and genius in an iconic central London location. The Strings, London is a superb restaurant living in the corner of the County Hall building, on the South side of Westminster Bridge. I was lured in by a sign suggesting a great deal on a salmon meal, but instead of a cheap and cheerful meal, this was simply delicious, with the softest juiciest salmon accompanied by a beautiful salad with tiny delicious vine tomatoes and sauteed potatoes. Yet before I could fully savour it, I found my meal being accompanied by the most delicious immortal sounds from the guitar playing of Santy Masciardo, sitting just a few yards from me. Santy Masciardo is the genius behind this amazing restaurant. I could easily have thought I was in a dream as I saw the Tower of Westminster through the beautiful arched window at the side, and the occasional passing double decker London buses. I was experiencing picture postcard sights, tasting the most delicious food and hearing spine-tingling wonderful virtuoso-class acoustic guitar playing, all at the same time. This guy is a genius. This restaurant is heaven. And if you don’t go and try it then more fool you, because it’s a wonderful thing happening right in the centre of London. This is why London is the best city in the world, when it can come up with such a wonderful surprise. The music happens at the weekend every half hour, and it would be worth going for it alone, but the food is also superb. Santy rightly told me, with pride, that his French chef was behind the wonderful food, encompassing a wide European variety of tastes. He himself is Italian from Sicily, but he recognises that Spain is where the guitar was born and several adorned the wall. He pays homage to it beautifully with his playing, which is absolutely divine and just so amazing to hear live, in a restaurant serving fantastic food. I only hope this restaurant can thrive in the difficult economic circumstances we’re in now because this is the sort of place that makes lifetimes special and creates magic moments in our lives. If you only get to go to one restaurant in London, this must be the one. [From my blog at https://parsleyscommlock.wordpress.com/2026/04/21/restaurant-review-strings-south-bank-london-5-stars/]

I am absolutely in love with this place. The atmosphere is very warm and family-like, calm and welcoming. I truly did not expect to find such a peaceful and cozy restaurant in such a highly touristic area. Live music plays about every 30 minutes and creates a beautiful ambiance without being loud or overwhelming. The food is absolutely delicious. Authentic Italian cuisine full of flavor and high quality ingredients. Portions are very generous and the appetizers are huge. You can easily feel full just from the starters alone. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The location is amazing, right next to Big Ben and the London Eye. Despite this, the restaurant feels relaxed and uncrowded, with none of the usual tourist chaos. The interior design is elegant, tasteful and very comfortable, making it a perfect place for a calm lunch or dinner. I am honestly surprised that in such a busy tourist location you can find a restaurant with such a wonderful atmosphere, incredible Italian food and such a pleasant, relaxed vibe. This is definitely a place I would love to come back to.
