South-west Londoners have a lot of love for this place, which is no surprise when you learn that the restaurant deals in proper steaks. By that we mean hunky, Argentinian, no-chewing-required meat that spurts juice when your fork prongs puncture it. One tip, however, before we proceed: depending on your tastes, order your meat rare to get a good medium-rare cut. Failing this could risk your steak being cooked medium-well or too well, leaving a tough and gamy texture.

Anyway, on to the menu. It's simple, the prices are (very) reasonable for this sort of establishment, and the choices are rife. Starters include plates of chorizo, sliced ox tongue, meat or veggie pasties, or black pudding as examples. These teasers make for great sharing; they even offer specific sharing main courses, which we'll get to in a second.

Mains for solo eaters include rump, fillet, sirloin and rib-eye, all at an average of £20, and weighing an average of 10oz. There's also a homemade burger with rocket salad and chips. Elsewhere, the sharing plates, where things start to get interesting, prices start to rise, and portions get heavier. Out of the three options, the 'middle' option at £21 comes with an 11oz rib-eye, a 10oz rump, some chorizo, black pudding and Provolone cheese. All this dish is, is some starters and two mains on the same plate - it's up to you whether you order separately or all at once.

When you step off the train and walk down Queenstown Road, chances are you'll be able to smell this place before you see it. Follow the scent down the road, through the door, and onto your seat. Quality steak awaits.
