Asakusa
London
Before we begin, a few words of caution ought to be aired so you're not deterred from visiting a great little Japanese eatery: from the outside, it might look a little scarred and beaten up. The interior really doesn't give us much to shout about either so, unless you have a real issue with sitting in somewhere a little less than perfect, you'll enjoy some delicious food served by professional staff with ease and enjoyment.
Such is its reputation, Asakusa tends to fill up quickly and empty slowly - booking ahead is the only reliable option and unless you do so, prepare to wait for a seat. The menu is very reasonably priced for the quality - the tempura is excellent here, and the quality of sushi is high as well. What's also really cool is how the menu is scribbled all across the walls so all options are immediately available to everyone. Try the pork belly as well; it's unmissable, as is the fried oyster for a more manageable method of getting the otherwise slippery morsel down your throat.
Opening times: Monday - Friday: 18:00 - 23:30, Saturday: 18:00 - 23:00
