Eyre Brothers Restaurant
London
The Eyre Brothers restaurant is listed as one of the top 50 restaurants by Time Out Dining and Eating in 2009. That fabulous restaurant located on Leonard Street was opened by the Eyre brothers and they seem to know what they are doing. The mainly Portuguese dishes are fabulously prepared and delicious while the surrounding is friendly and welcoming.
The menu of the restaurant was created by the owners themselves using their experience from their upbringing in Mozambique. They use Spanish and French herbs and flavours to enrich the dishes with unique tastes. The à la carte menu changes frequently and might includes dishes such as butterfly-cut gilthead sea bream with garlic and chilli, grilled fillet of acorn-fed Ibérico pork, marinated with smoked paprika, thyme and garlic and grilled Mozambique tiger prawns piri-piri with pilaf rice and cucumber. Complementing the dishes, the wine list includes a range of first rate bins from mainly Portugal and Spain offered by the bottle. A few samples are offered by the glass as well.
The interior of the Eyre Brothers restaurant is drawn by a dark wooden floor and ceiling, sophisticated and chic furniture and, here and there, a designer lamp. Divided dining areas give room for intimacy and privacy. The waiting staff is friendly and attentive yet unobtrusive. The waiters are happy to assist with recommendations regarding both meals and drinks.
