Ottolenghi

London

Creative Contemporary Restaurants

The independent Ottolenghi chain now has four branches in London. Their Islington spot is the closest that they come to a flagship restaurant, with the longest opening hours.Ottolenghi serves undeniably delicious food with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The Islington branch can sit 50 people at their communal tables, with a couple of private tables for two. The Observer recently voted Ottolenghi as serving the best breakfast in the whole city. An added little quirk is that you can make your own toast at the table. Lunch is taken from the counter and hot dinners are from the kitchen. They can also produce large Mezze portions to share.

The Belgravia and Notting Hill stores both sell mainly pastries and food to take-out. Notting Hill is where Ottolenghi began, whilst Belgravia is the latest little addition to the family. Flourless chocolate teacakes and other delicious raspberry meringues are customer favourites. Both stores have a tiny seating area but only for ten people maximum (and there is no toilet) so it is perfect for a quick stop.

The Kensington branch is smallest of all has no seating, but the counter serves up warm coffees and pastries. Their delectably famous cinnamon loaf has transformed this branch into the place for locals looking for a pick-me-up.
